January Favourites 2016

Hello, lovelies! I feel like I’ve fallen off the blogging wagon recently, my little blogging mind has been elsewhere and I just had a major mind block about what to talk about, but alas here I am back with another post. January was an average month, nothing special happened, a lot of you enjoyed my Beat the January Blues blog post so thank you for the lovely comments and I hope it helped you keep trudging through what feels like the longest month of the year.

This is my first monthly favourites post, there’s not a lot of things included but I still wanted to share with you guys what I loved during January.

The first thing I’ve been absolutely adoring this month is the St. Tropez Gradual Tan. I’ll hold my hands up and admit straight away I love fake tan, I love being tanned full stop. It gives me that extra confidence and my skin just looks so much better with that sun-kissed glow. This is one of the best fake tans I’ve used so far, and boy have I tried a lot. It doesn’t streak and leaves the most natural looking glow on your body, I’ve been putting two layers of this on before I go to bed and I wake up looking like I’ve had a couple of days in the Bahamas. I grabbed it in boots while it was on sale for about half price but I still think I’d pay full price for this because of how good it is.

I think this has been most people’s favourites this month and it’s Making A Murderer, the new documentary series on Netflix that has been captivating everyone. It tells the story of a man called Steven Avery who was wrongly convicted of rape and attempted murder and spent 18 years in prison up until 2003, where he became a free man finally, but only for a short while… DUN DUN DUUUUUUN. It had me hooked from start to finish, I spent every night whilst falling asleep evaluating every episode and possible theories, I think I may have got into it a little too much.  If you’re looking for something gripping and a bit different then you should definitely give this a watch.

These two have saved my skin over the course of last month. I had a lot of angry breakouts all over my face, which is unusual for me because my skin has calmed down lately. These two products, Nip + Fab’s Dragon’s Blood Plumping Mask & Boots Tea Tree Charcoal Mask have just balanced out my skin and cleared it right up. I did a more in-depth review on Nip + Fab’s  Plumping Mask here.

I read Tanya Burr’s book in two days last month and I really enjoyed it, It was so interesting to learn all about her childhood and her best beauty tips. It was a very personal book and that’s what I loved most about it, it wasn’t just facts and tip toeing around her personal life. I can’t wait to start baking some of her recipes, just a warning though, do not read the baking section if you’re verrrry hungry, it will make your tummy rumble so bad!

I had so many clothing favourites this month, but I didn’t want to include all of them in this post because I’d probably bore you all to sleep. If you read my What I Got for Christmas post, you’ll know I received these gorgeous Chelsea Boots from Topshop, which can be found here. No word of a lie, I think I’ve wore them every day in January (if you can’t already tell from the mud and scratches on them). They’re just ideal for the oh so typical British weather we’re having right now, so comfortable and they go with practically everything in my wardrobe.

I made a new discovery (new for me because I’m totally not with the times) on YouTube last month and that was the SacconeJolys, they’re an Irish family of four who vlog their day to day lives. Their children are so cute and I just really enjoy seeing what they get up to everyday. I’m so glad I came across their videos because they’re honestly so easy to watch and enjoyable. Jonathan is absolutely hilarious and I have no idea how he and Anna put up with their children because they’re always so crazy and energetic.

Lots of love,

  1. I’VE BEEN LOVING THE MAKING OF A MURDERER. i just feel so sorry for him… if you liked that, you should check out life and death row, it’s really eye opening about how the justice system is flawed (like in TMOAM) and its a pretty common occurrence
