Hello, lovelies! I really must apologise for being M.I.A for way too long, I’ve been on trips away, I went home for the Easter holidays, I got the flu and now I have an ear infection, all the exciting stuff. But now I’m back and rearing to go, and what better way to start than with a favourites post?
My first and most random favourite are these lovely frilly socks that I picked up in Primark while I was in London, I spotted them while I was at the tills and they were a total impulse buy but they’re so cute and I can’t wait to pair them with my converse in the summer. They came in a pack of three, made up of a khaki colour and a creme colour as well and they were only £2, so I couldn’t just leave them there.
My next favourite is this amazing Mango Peach Salsa candle from Yankee Candle, I received this as a surprise from my boyfriend on Valentines Day and I haven’t stoppped burning it since. As you can see, it’s not even half gone yet so it’s amazing value for money as I know Yankee Candles can be on the pricey side. It’s such a fresh, fruity smell and matches perfectly with spring and the oncoming summer months.
Next, we have the Dove Go Fresh Body Wash. Now I’m the type of person who isn’t too bothered with what they use in the shower to wash my body, I usually buy what’s on offer when I’m shopping but, this stuff has changed me. I received these as a pair in a Dove gift set at Christmas but I only recently got round to using them and OH MY GOD THEY’RE SO GOOD! They are such a joy to use in the shower, they’re so creamy and leave your skin feeling so soft and moisturised but most importantly they smell incredible. Thank you Dove for bringing a smile to dull showers.
I only have one skincare item to share with you guys and that’s the Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It, I spotted this in Boots and picked it up on a whim, what’s one more Soap & Glory product to add to my ever-growing collection? The scrub does have quite a gritty consistency but it’s very gentle on the skin whilst still doing its job. I use it mostly on my t-zone as that’s the most problematic place on my face and I’ve definitely seen a difference in the size of my pores. It has a fresh minty smell which is a great wake up call for early mornings.
Next, we have the dynamic duo which has been doing my hair wonders since I went back blonde, the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner. These guys give me that salon feeling hair coming out the shower without the price – cheesy right. They stop my hair feeling limp and lifeless, which tends to happen after I’ve had highlights and keeps my colour looking fresh and bright whilst I count my pennies for my next hair appointment.
My biggest favourite of the month has to be my trip to London to see Ellie Goulding at the end of March and yes, she was utterly mesmerising. I’ve been a huge fan off Ellie for years and I saw her perform on her Halcyon Day’s tour in the Cardiff Student Union a few years back. I missed out on the chance to see her perform in Cardiff again but my boyfriend and I decided we’d make the trip to London to see her perform in the O2. The show was absolutely brilliant, the whole staging and her energy was amazing. After the show when we were waiting for an uber outside, my boyfriend turned to me and said ‘I’ve never seen you look so happy when I looked at you in there’ which is a huge statement for someone who suffers with chronic bitch face. To sum up the whole night, when we got back to where we were staying, I cried, because it was all over. If you want to catch up on my weekend in London you can find me on Instagram.
My last favourite is the Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline. I go through mascaras like I used to go through make-up removing wipes, but now I’ve found this one I know I’ll be repurchasing it again and again. It’s the only mascara I think I’ve used where once I’ve applied it, looked at my lashes and thought wow. The length it gives is amazing and I’ve been asked so many times if I wear fake eyelashes when I’m wearing this. I love finding little drugstore gems.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and don’t forget to follow me on my social media below.
Lots of love,
